With this year’s X Factor well under way, the rumour mills still continue to churn. This time, the focus appears to be on the slightly disgruntled Louis Walsh.  As the only original judge to return this year, it’s been clear for a while now that Louis was none too pleased when Gary Barlow landed the coveted role of head judge, clearly thinking the position should have been his.  And if the latest rumours are true, poor Louis looks set to become grumpier in the coming weeks!

It has been reported that Louis is unhappy with X Factor bosses after being told he must choose another Wagner for the live shows.  According to the Mirror X Factor bosses want to see more novelty acts in the final but Louis fears doing so will damage his credibility, not surprising considering the acts he is most recently remembered for are Wagner and Jedward!  And it appears that despite his reservations, Louis has given in to the X Factor bosses and picked a contestant which has been described as “more outlandish than he would have liked”.

This is just the latest in a line of Louis upsets this year.  Louis has also been reported to be furious with Simon Cowell after being forced to team up with Sinitta at the judge’s houses stage of the competition.  This is no surprise as it has been suggested that Louis had managed to secure the ever popular Adele to work with him as mentor for his category, but with Cowell’s intervention he will now be stuck with Sinitta.  Although this move may have patched up a rift between Cowell and his Ex after Cowell chose Mariah Carey to join him in the US version of the show, it could prove to be an unpopular decision with viewing audiences.  We know who we’d prefer to see on our screens!

All these rumours suggest that Louis is increasingly losing credibility as a judge  alongside this year’s new generation of judges on the panel, with Gary Barlow taking lead as head judge and Beyoncé lined up to support band mate Kelly Rowland while poor Louis is forced to roll over and take whatever 80s throwback he is handed.  We at Geek Overture wonder if he will even stick around next year as he grows increasingly disheartened by his position on the show.
