This week´s New Girl has been my favourite episode so far, we get to see a lot of Jess, and it can be annoying for some people but I really enjoy it. I think the series has reached a point where you mind is made up about it, so if you still don’t like Zooey Deschanel’s character then it might be the perfect time to start watching something else.

So, what happened this week? The episode revolves around a wedding, whose wedding is it? We don’t actually know, we see the couple once in the whole episode but apparently they are Nick’s friends, not that it really matters. The important thing is that Jess is Nick’s date at the wedding. His ex-girlfriend Caroline is attending as well, and Nick wants to show her that he’s doing well, but maybe bringing Jess as a date was not the best idea ever.
Everyone tells Jess that she needs be as normal as possible but she stills wants to be herself so she decides to come up with some kind of alter-ego during the wedding. Jess becomes the annoying girlfriend that won’t let her boyfriend alone, and that’s what she does specially when Caroline comes to say hi to Nick. Jess tries to do her best to keep Caroline away from Nick as Schmidt and Winston have told her that Nick needs to get over his ex, but it doesn’t really work and Nick and Caroline end up talking for a while and having some photos taken inside a photobooth at the wedding venue. Nick thinks that there are still chances of getting back together but he later finds out that Caroline has a boyfriend. He´s devastated and blames poor Jess for letting him go with Caroline.
Meanwhile Schmidt spends the whole episode flirting with a girl (déjà vu?). Apparently the girl is an old classmate and an ex-alcoholic but Jess ruins Schmidt’s chances with her unintentionally when she starts screaming that she can’t take off the child cycling pants that she’s wearing under her tight dress, hilarious!
At this point everyone is a little mad at Jess except Winston, who is an usher at the wedding and tries to compete against a 12 year-old usher during most of the episode. Jess finally ends up in the photobooth with Nick trying to make him feel better, will this evolve into something else? There´s definitely some tension in here!
At the end of the episode Nick asks Jess to dance and she starts making the chicken dance (which she had previously shown to her flatmates at the apartment) while Schmidt and Nick join and altogether do the dance in slow motion. That´s getting along with your flatmates…will try that the next time I go out with mine.
