You know the CW. It’s that place where people in their 20s pretend to be in their teens and do stuff. In some shows they do high school things, in others they solve mysteries, and in the really high end ones they are superheroes.
Since the cast of Smallville hit their 40s in 2011, they had to cast out of the CW mansion never to be seen again, the little network that could has been lacking some super powered action. So this fall, comes Arrow. It’s an adaptation of Green Arrow but two word titles are clearly lame.
Now some may remember Justin Hartley playing Green Arrow in Smallville but forget all that, this is a reboot and at 35 Justin was just too old. This version stars Stephen Amell as the billionaire playboy Oliver Queen who is left stranded alone on an island for five years following a plane crash. When he returns to society, he has changed (well you would) and likes shooting bad guys with arrows really accurately.
Stephen Amell was first captured by the CW during a couple of episodes of Vampire Diaries in 2011. His co-star Katie Cassidy has been held by the netlet since 2007 recurring on Supernatural and Gossip Girl while she was a star of the flop Melrose Place reboot. If she serves five years on Green Arrow, she’ll be set free.
However you never really leave, as Kristin Kreuk discovered. She’ll be playing Catherine on the new CW version of Beauty and the Beast. Never underestimate the power of the CW.
Arrow will air Wednesday nights alongside Supernatural this Fall on the CW
Are you looking forward to Green Arrow? Would Hawkeye beat him in a fight? Is shooting arrows a kinda lame superpower? Tell us below.
