Popular Hollywood Director Tony Scott has died on the 19th August 2012. Currently the death is being investigated as a suicide and it has not been reported as suspicious. According to news reports Tony Scott jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles.
Lt Joe Bale who is dealing with the case suggested that there was no reason to believe it was not suicide as Scott was seen parking his car shortly before jumping into the water. According to sources a suicide note was found in Tony’s office and witnesses’ claim he did not hesitate before jumping from the bridge. His family have thanked the public for their condolences but ask that their privacy be respected at this time.
Tony Scott was originally born in North Shields, England and is the brother of Ridley Scott, another popular Hollywood director. Tony Scott had an extremely successful career as a film producer and director and has been involved with all-time-classics such as Top Gun, True Romance, Enemy of the State and Beverly Hills Cop II.
Tony’s success has sometimes been overshadowed by his older brother Ridley who has produced some of the biggest blockbusters of all time over the past decade. However the brothers have often worked on projects together including Prometheus and the highly anticipated TV series Coma.
The news of his death has come as a huge shock to the film industry, especially considering the number of films Scott had in production and the number of films announced to be produced by Scott including Prometheus 2 and Emma’s War.
Tonight I will go home, watch Top Gun and celebrate all the epic entertainment that Tony Scott has brought to television screens all around the world.
