We’ve searched the web to bring you a selection of some of the best film projects raising money through crowd-funding sites such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo.

 

Tea with Honey directed by Krish Shrikumar

Tea with Honey is a short romantic comedy telling a story of Tom who is determined to meet Ania once again and make it something more than just a one night stand. He turns up at her door with a box filled with something to make her fall in love with him. When the door opens, Tom quickly realises that he is not greeted by the girl of his dreams but Kuba, a colossal ill tempered Eastern European who speaks very little English. This film is the moments that follow where Tom and Kuba converse over a cup of ‘Tea with Honey’ and they soon realise that they can never be friends because a girl will always come between them.

Krish is looking for $7,300 and you can sponsor the project on Tea with Honey fundraising site.

 

The Wireless Generation directed by Drew & Christine Gilbert

We hear a lot about how the Internet changes everything around us and how we interact with each other.  The Wireless generation is a documentary talking about a new trend taking place around the world. More and more people swap their cubicals  to work online from their homes. This opens new opportunity to those who work from home and this film looks at the movement as it happens and tries to answer a question of what happens next.

Drew and Chrisitine are looking for $35,000 to complete their project and you can sponsor it here.

 

Scattered directed by Joshua Bregman

Scattered is a graduation project looking to raise £6,5000. This  film is a screen-adaptation of the work of sci-fi author Ken MacLeod. It examines society’s relationship with its past through a son’s relationship with his father, and challenges our established ideas of destruction and terrorism through a crime that is as surprising as it is all-consuming. As all great sci-fi should, Scattered offers a vision of the future that illuminates the present.

 

Romantic Encounters with Melinda Hill directed by Adam Scott Franklin

This web series documents a series of attempts at finding a soulmate and it’s performed by brilliant stand up comedian Melinda Hill.  There are a couple of episode produced already so check out for yourself id Medlinda’s project is worth backing up.
